This is an incredible opportunity for an Accounting Manager to be involved in a highly visible position while building out a team for their corporate HQ. The Accounting Manager must be technically strong, possess a strong understanding of US GAAP, and have proven management experience.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Accounting Manager will be reporting directly to the CFO and primarily assisting in consolidated financials and providing general assurance that accounting is accurate. This position will serve as the leader on all financial close activities, supported by an existing staff who is based locally at various locations nationwide. The Accounting Manager will serve as a significant figure in the accounting process and will be very hands-on in the buildout of the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Supervise Senior Accountants across multiple dealership locations.
Oversee the complete month-end close process and ensure compliance with reporting deadlines.
Review and consolidate site-level financials into accurate company-wide statements.
Manage AP, AR, and payroll review to ensure alignment with company policies.
Maintain compliance with internal controls, GAAP standards, and state/local sales tax rules.
Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with the Director of Finance.
Lead the preparation of audit-ready financials and assist in external audits.
Support the centralization of accounting processes, driving standardization and efficiency.
Identify process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations.
Other ad-hoc responsibilities as needed.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS FOR THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER
5 – 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Experience supervising accounting teams across multiple entities.
Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, consolidations, and audit preparation.
Familiarity with multi-location operations. Strong Excel skills and familiarity with QuickBooks or other accounting systems.
Ability to thrive in a growing, evolving environment with competing priorities.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS FOR THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Background in both public accounting and private industry is strongly preferred.
Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
CPA is preferred but not required.
Experience with private equity reporting is a major plus.
Experience with centralizing accounting functions is a plus.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent related business degree is required.
