Position Summary:
The Manager of Fixed Assets – North America Metal oversees and provides leadership to the Fixed Assets team. The Manager reports directly to the Director of Financial Reporting and works closely with the manufacturing accounting teams for Beverage, Food, Aerosol and Closures and various other departments in Crown.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Application Owner of IBM FA2000 and PA2000 (Fixed Assets and Project Accounting).
Application Security and Maintenance.
Manage the daily fixed asset tasks (PAR approvals, capitalizations, disposals, physical inventories, etc).
Manage the monthly and year end close of the fixed assets systems.
Approve all journals from the FA team.
Review and approve monthly account reconciliations.
Hold monthly meetings with each Business Unit to review the current status of un-capitalized PARS, Physical inventory status, and other issues.
Involved in forecasting Depreciation for the business units. Provide updates and explanations for variances.
Support AP in daily payment cycles. Pull in and release the payments.
Interact and provide support with personnel at company manufacturing plants, internal/external auditors, and other departments within Crown.
Special Projects as needed
Training & Development of Staff. Involved in the day-to-day tasks of the FA team and responsible for keeping them on target.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline.
Previous accounting experience. 7+ years preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel). Experience with Infinium and AS400 programs desirable
Ability to work under pressure and respect deadlines is essential
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent general communication skills, verbal and written.
