Job Description TITLE:

Part-Time Financial Administrator

REPORTS TO
Senior Pastor HOURS:

20-25 hours per week

OVERVIEW

The Financial Administrator is a follower of Jesus who is active in a local Christian church. At Canopy Roads he/she part of a ministry team that is committed to the vision of the church. He/she follows the leadership of the Senior Pastor. This is a part-time position requiring an estimated 20 hours per week but shall not exceed 29 hours.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. Minimum three years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping performing similar tasks to the responsibilities stated above and preferably in a church or nonprofit setting. 2. Proficiency and experience in an accounting software as well as Microsoft Word and Excel or Google Docs and Sheets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain the financial records of the church including but not limited to the following: Recording contributions and other deposits. Paying bills Maintaining vendor files Administering the payroll Reconciling all financial accounts monthly Maintaining the general ledger Preparing monthly financial reports and other reports as deemed necessary by the Senior Pastor Preparing and submitting all tax forms. 2. Manage employee benefits as per the church personnel policies including but not limited to the following: Insurance Retirement Paid time off 3. Maintain employee personnel files. 4. Assist in Senior Pastor in the development of the annual budget to include: Sending budget request worksheets to all ministry leaders and staff. Collecting completed budget requests and adding them to the proposed budget worksheet for the new year. 5.
