Shared Services Accounting Manager Job Description The SchoolAccounting and Controls leader will oversee our regional accountingfunction and will serve as a key leader of the US Shared ServicesFinance team whose purpose it is to:
- Perform Accounts Receivable,Accounts Payable and General ledger transactions from a Centre ofExcellence

- Ensure timely and accuratemonth-end and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain general ledgerintegrity and ensure accurate classification of accounts.
- Reconcile complex accounts and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Collaborate with auditors to support external audit processes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and notes to theaccounts.
- Review journal entries and ensure proper documentationand approval.
- Work closely with other departments to ensureaccuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Support budgetingand forecasting activities. Manages and provides leadership andmentorship to a team of accounting professionals
- Lead and mentora team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and supportto ensure high performance.
- Foster a culture of collaboration,accountability, and continuous improvement within the financialservices department.
- Identify training and development needs andprovide opportunities for professional growth. Responsible forMonthly & Quarterly Close Process
- Responsibility for preparationand filing of all centrally managed statutory accounts.
- Responsibility of managing team reviewing monthly and quarterlyjournal entries for all 11 US schools.
- Responsibility for reviewand integrity of business unit (school) statutory accounts.
- Responsibility for the accounting of any holding or dormantcompanies
- Leading on Opening Balance sheet work with newacquisitions.
- Analysis of month end balance sheet identifyingreasons for movements and variances to budget/forecast. Responsiblefor Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payable teams
- Responsibilities for managing the team recording accountsreceivable journal entries for 11 schools.
- Responsibilities forthe team managing the accounts payable process, making payments tosuppliers and journal entries for 11 schools.
- Streamlining theaccounts receivable and accounts payable processes, to create moreefficiencies.
- Reporting on Service Level Agreements to schools.
Lead Internal & External Audits
- Responsibility for preparation ofthe Company Annual and Interim Reports US GAAP and IFRS includingfull interaction with external audit teams.
- Drives Compliancewith NAE Accounting Policy | DOA
GAAP & IFRS
Compliance
- Ensuring compliance of accounting policies and procedures withinbusiness units. Liaison with Schools on Controls Framework andserves as the primary Group Accounting Contact
- Leading complianceof new schools accounting with group accounting policies.
- Workwith Group FC to align and enhance and standardise financialreports
- Ensure all reporting deliverables are sent on time and inthe correct format for both month end, actual and quarterlyreporting.
Required Skills/Abilities The ideal candidate will haveat least 5 years’ experience in a high-pressured financialenvironment and will be strong in 3 key areas: 1. they will betechnically excellent 2. they will possess the gravitas to drivechange and thrive in a high-pressure environment, 3. have relevantexperience leading a shared service accounting function dealingwith multi-jurisdictional and Spanish speaking businesses.
RoleRequirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting,business administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degreepreferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CharteredFinancial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred.
- Minimum of 8 yearsof experience in financial management, with progressivelyincreasing responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of financialprinciples, accounting standards, and financial analysistechniques.
- IFRS and US GAAP
- Excellent leadership,communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to managemultiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Highlyanalytical
- Advance Excel skills
- Ability to “think out of thebox” and create from scratch
- Experience in collaborating withstakeholders at all levels throughout an organisation
- Experiencein the for-profit education sector is a plus.
- Spanish languageproficiency
- Regional accountants based in Miami, focusing onmonth-end closure and delegation of tasks.
- Experience withauditors, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and automatedentries.
- Familiarity with AP/AR and financial data management for15 entities across the Americas, particularly in LATAM.
- Specializing in large-scale balance sheet reconciliations andmanaging challenges like medical and payroll reconciliation.
- Long-term goal of achieving successful audits and enhancingfinancial growth.

Leadership:
Demonstrated 3years of leadership experience.
Accounting Expertise:
Strongunderstanding of
GAAP & IFRS
compliance, with proficiency inaccruals, AR/AP, and balance sheet reconciliation.
IndustryKnowledge:
Preferably in education, hospitality, or multi-entityenvironments.
Technical Skills:
Experience with ERP systems likeBusiness Central, MS Dynamics, and OneStream. Integrationexperience is valued.
