POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of IT Revenue Cycle Management Acute/Ambulatory is responsible for overseeing the technology solutions supporting revenue cycle operations across a multi-hospital system utilizing
MEDITECH EHR.
This role ensures the implementation, optimization, and support of applications related to patient billing, claims processing, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. Additionally, the director will support Central Business Office (CBO) revenue and receivable tracking solutions, ensuring seamless financial operations and interoperability between EHR, financial management, and third-party systems. Reporting to the Executive Director of Administrative, Revenue Cycle, and Business Applications, this leadership position oversees a team of IT professionals focused on supporting and enhancing enterprise platforms such as Meditech Billing and general financial applications. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with extensive healthcare IT experience, capable of managing technical teams and driving system performance to support acute and ambulatory revenue cycle and general financials workflows effectively.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee IT support functions for acute/ambulatory Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) applications, including billing, claims processing, accounts receivable, and financial reporting within
MEDITECH EHR.
Support Central Business Office (CBO) operations, ensuring efficient revenue and receivable tracking, payer reimbursement workflows, and revenue reporting tools such as FinThrive, RevSpring, and Craneware. Manage system integrations, ensuring seamless data exchange between MEDITECH, financial applications, clearinghouses, and external revenue management platforms. Provide technical leadership for general financial applications, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), and Materials Management (MM), ensuring system performance, data integrity, and compliance. Collaborate with finance, patient access, and revenue cycle leadership to drive efficiencies, automate workflows, and enhance financial performance. Oversee compliance and regulatory requirements related to HIPAA, CMS, payer standards, and financial data security. Evaluate and manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, system updates, and service level agreements (SLAs) for revenue cycle and financial applications. Implement analytics and reporting solutions to provide financial insights and track revenue cycle KPIs. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, ensuring technical excellence and customer service in revenue cycle and financial operations. Support digital transformation initiatives, including automation, AI-driven financial insights, and workflow optimization across revenue cycle and financial applications.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Business Administration or a related field (Master’s preferred). 8+ years of experience in healthcare IT, with a strong focus on revenue cycle management applications. 3+ years of direct team management experience, including leading technical staff in a healthcare setting. Proven ability to support large-scale system implementations and integrations in a hospital or health system environment. Experience in vendor relationship management, including contract review and performance oversight.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
Proven track record of strategic leadership and team management. Strong communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience in budget planning, contract negotiations, and vendor management for clinical applications. Strong working knowledge of Meditech and/or other major EHR systems (Epic, Cerner), Revenue Cycle modules, CBO financial systems, and payer integration platforms.
