Full Job Description Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) (minimum 10 years of experience) to develop and lead our mortgage department from the ground up. This role is ideal for a self-starter with a proven sales background who is ready to design, build, and scale a high-performing mortgage origination team and sales operation within our company.

Key Responsibilities:
Establish Department Structure:

Design the organizational structure, define roles and responsibilities for the mortgage department.

Recruitment & Training:

Identify, recruit, and onboard new team members, and additional MLOs as needed. Develop and deliver training programs to ensure team competency and compliance.

Policy & Procedure Development:

Create and implement department policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

Sales & Business Growth Business Development:

Drive department growth by sourcing new business, building referral networks, and establishing partnerships with realtors, builders, and other industry professionals.

Sales Strategy:

Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve departmental loan production goals and expand market presence.

Marketing Collaboration:

Work with marketing teams to create campaigns, materials, and outreach programs that support department objectives and generate leads.

Leadership & Management Performance Management:

Set performance metrics, monitor results, and provide coaching and feedback to ensure team success.

Culture Building:

Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on customer service, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Reporting:

Develop and maintain reporting systems to track department performance, pipeline status, and key business metrics. Required Skills & Qualifications Demonstrated experience in building or scaling a mortgage sales team or department. Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills. Deep knowledge of mortgage products, compliance, and industry best practices. Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building abilities. Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish) Proficiency with mortgage origination and CRM systems. Active NMLS license required. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
