Role Overview:

The firm is seeking a Valuation Manager to join its finance team in South Florida . Reporting to senior members of the finance organization, including the Chief Financial Officer of the Private Equity platform, this individual will be a key contributor in the oversight, execution, and review of portfolio company valuations. This highly cross-functional role offers regular interaction with investment teams, operations, accounting, investor services, tax, legal, compliance, and capital formation.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the day-to-day management of the valuation process, including deliverable tracking, valuation model reviews, and ad hoc analyses. Coordinate valuation reviews with third-party service providers. Utilize internal systems such as portfolio management platforms, general ledger software, reporting dashboards, and automation tools. Guide investment teams in building valuation models that align with internal valuation policy and relevant external reporting standards. Interpret governing documents (LPAs, side letters, legal agreements) as they relate to the valuation process. Partner with investment professionals on valuation inputs and methodologies. Assist in onboarding new portfolio investments and establishing valuation-related data protocols. Review and validate financial and market-based assumptions used in valuation models. Support external audits and interim valuation reviews. Identify opportunities to improve the valuation process, reporting, and related technologies. Prepare and deliver valuation presentations for internal stakeholders, including firm leadership, valuation committees, and investors. Maintain strong relationships and provide valuation deliverables to both internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; CFA and/or CPA strongly preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience in valuation, with a focus on private equity portfolio companies. (Experience in transaction services, FP&A, corporate development, or data analytics is a plus.) Background in a Big 4 valuation practice or independent valuation advisory is highly valued. Strong communication skills and comfort presenting to senior stakeholders. Advanced analytical ability and a high attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience managing teams or cross-functional projects. Deep understanding of ASC 820 and fair value standards, with familiarity across valuation methodologies (income, market, and other approaches). Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; exposure to data analytics or visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus. Ability to conduct market and economic research across various industries and regions. Familiarity with financial tools such as CapitalIQ, Bloomberg, and portfolio management systems is advantageous.
