NextEra Energy Marketing, LLC is looking for a Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis reporting to our Director of Accounting MTM, Reporting and Forecasting. This job is responsible for forecasting and reporting for the regulated and unregulated trading and marketing groups.
In this role you will:
Led the financial planning and analysis support functions for the energy trading and marketing business units: analysis of earnings, cash flow and trader P&L
Provide forecasting support and analysis of the Company’s interest rate swap mark to market activities
Prepare analysis on the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow impact of various trading strategies and transactions
Provide timely and accurate financial reporting of the Company’s derivative contracts and related mark to market of those activities Business Unit Financial Planning & Analysis Support Lead key forecasting and reporting processes for the trading business units using data from the financial reporting systems and assumptions provided by business unit leadership Prepare and analyze forecasted balance sheet and cash flows and review results with business unit leadership
Deliver daily and monthly Trading P&L reporting, analyze variances, and review results with trade floor personnel Prepare monthly budget vs. actual variance explanations to Corporate reporting and review with business unit leadership
Liaison with FP&A Center of Excellence on trading and marketing business units
G&A / O&M
budgets
Provide inputs for the Company’s interest rate swap forecasting process
Support the preparation of derivative fair value financial statement disclosures and the preparation of the quarterly Non-Qualifying Hedge earnings release information
Lead forecast and reporting process improvement projects leveraging advance reporting tools (MSBI and SAPBOBJ) Ideal Candidate will have Advanced Excel Skills
Proficient in SAP, Trading accounting systems and Microsoft Business Intelligence (MSBI)
Advanced ability to use, and help facilitate the design of, advanced reporting tools (MSBI and
SAP BOBJ
) to support the reporting process
Strong accounting and financial analysis knowledge, with proven analytical skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills in order to effectively communicate guidance and recommendations to management
Six Sigma experience and Process improvement mindset
Ability to multi-task
Expertise in Energy Trading Job Overview Employees in this position manage analysts in the performance of the financial forecasting and analysis efforts. Individuals develop strategies, processes, and policies for financial forecasting and oversee the budgeting efforts of one or more subsidiaries, group roll-ups, and or corporate functions.
Job Duties & Responsibilities Manages relationships with the budgeting and forecasting departments
Ensures that forecasting models are current and incorporate the required accurate data
Works with senior leadership on the formulation, execution, and communication of corporate strategies and financing plans based on financial forecast analysis
Supports other business units or departments in analyses as requested including Merger and Acquisition analyses
Develops presentations for Finance Committee and Rating Agency meetings as required
Prepares sensitive data and information for external disclosure
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
