Job Description
Description We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join the finance department and help lead accounting operations. This is a hybrid position for a dynamic organization located in the St. Petersburg, Florida area. The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and assisting in the development of internal control policies. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage and develop a team of accounting professionals.
Requirements Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the general ledger and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and payroll functions.
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and mentor a team of accountants and finance staff.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar).
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
