Accounting Manager Position Available In Pinellas, Florida

Description We are partnered with an organization based in the Tarpon Springs, FL area within the construction industry to source for an adept Accounting Manager to join their team on a contract basis with potential for permanent hire after a trial / probationary period. This role involves leading accounting operations, job costing / project accounting, oversight of accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a strong background in full cycle accounting, ideally with prior accounting experience within the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including supervising transactions and reconciling general ledger entries to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor cash flow activities and reconcile accounts to minimize discrepancies and errors.
• Manage accounts payable processing, ensuring vendor payments are completed and all tasks are closed within the AP software.
• Lead accounts receivable operations, ensuring invoices are sent and collected on time while maintaining accurate reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and data to support internal decision-making.
• Supervise and mentor a small accounting staff, providing training and development opportunities.
• Recruit and onboard new team members as needed to strengthen the accounting department.
• Oversee transactional accounting tasks, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
• Utilize QuickBooks and other accounting software to streamline processes and maintain efficiency.
• Collaborate with leadership to support the financial health of the company and provide insights for strategic planning. Requirements
• Proven, hands-on experience with the full monthly accounting cycle, prior accounting experience within the construction industry (project accounting / job costing) strongly preferred
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and other accounting systems strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processing and creating efficiencies within both
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements & reports with precision
• Demonstrated leadership skills, ideally with prior experience in team supervision and mentoring, will be crucial
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment
