Tasks
The Accounting & Finance Manager will lead and manage all financial accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the organization. The ideal candidate will oversee the financial processes, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, and monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity and performance. This is a hybrid role, estimated to be two days per week, in our office in Atlanta, GA. Our corporate headquarters is One Porsche Drive, Atlanta, GA 30354. MHP Americas will open a second office on 17th Street near Atlantic Station in 2025.
Responsibilities:
Accounting:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations (including managing journal entries and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting across Prepaids, Accruals, Payroll, Benefits, and Intercompany / Related Party transactions).
Manage the preparation and review of the monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Supervise accounts payable (including vendor payment subsidiary ledgers, invoice coding and posting, travel expense processing, and corporate credit card statement reconciliation), accounts receivable (ensuring timely collections and the reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers), payroll, intercompany accounts, and general ledger functions.
Manage fixed asset accounting, including depreciation calculations and related reporting according to IFRS and GAAP.
Collaborate with project management teams on performance-related invoicing and contract-related financial tasks.
Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes (including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements and other deliverables as assigned).
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
Coordinate and manage audits and work with external auditors to ensure successful completion of annual audits.
Finance:
Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Prepare financial reports and analysis for senior management to support strategic decision-making.
Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improving profitability and operational efficiency.
Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity planning to optimize financial resources.
Monitor financial markets and economic conditions to assess potential impacts on the organization’s financial position.
Controlling:
Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Perform cost accounting and control analysis to help the organization manage costs effectively.
Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop management reporting tools to track financial performance and operational efficiency.
Identify risks and opportunities for the business and provide actionable insights to mitigate risks and maximize profitability.
Foster strong cooperation with the Finance & Controlling department in Germany, ensuring seamless financial operations across the regions.
Team Management and Development:
Lead and mentor a team of accounting, finance, and controlling professionals.
Provide guidance and training to staff to ensure continuous improvement in skills and knowledge.
Foster a collaborative and positive working environment that encourages accountability, professionalism, and development.
Assist with implementation of SAP S4/Hana
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
Prepare and assist with tax filings, tax returns, and other statutory reports as required.
Work closely with legal and tax advisors to ensure proper compliance in all financial areas.
Prepare special evaluations and reports for senior management, providing actionable insights for decision-making, as assigned.
Assist with compliance and ad-hoc projects, as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (a concentration in Accounting preferred);
CPA or other relevant certifications preferred.
Experience:
8+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, with a strong background in General Ledger, AR, AP, and Cash Management.
Proven experience in managing international financial operations and working in cross-cultural environments.
Big Four accounting experience is highly preferred.
Expertise in SAP/R3 (FICO) required; experience with SAP BW and SAP CRM preferred.
Expertise in SAP S4/Hana highly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of
US GAAP, IFRS
Accounting, and US Tax regulations.
Advanced skills in Excel and other financial management software.
Exceptional organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Strong work ethic, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, cameras, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, climb stairs on occasion with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to effectively work and complete tasks in an open office/noisy environment.
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time while traveling in a car or airplane.
