MAU is hiring an Accounting Manager for Berry Global in Washington, GA. As an Accounting Manager, you will oversee inventory controls, standard cost accuracy, and variance analysis at the Washington plant. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information
Monday – Friday (40 hours per week)
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting
5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing facility
General Requirements
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and database applications
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., JDE)
In-depth knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with office equipment (e.g., computer, copier)
Essential Functions
Develop and audit controls over purchasing, receiving, issuing, and shipping for inventory accuracy
Partner with Materials and Production departments to implement and review inventory procedures
Audit departmental adherence to control procedures
Review Bills of Materials and update standard costs as needed
Maintain production trial records and prepare related journal entries
Record monthly journal entries for labor/overhead absorption and other items
Analyze and reclassify plant overhead expenses monthly
Estimate material efficiencies and prepare film cost estimates for weekly forecasts
Review and correct Uninvoiced Receipts and Accrual Reconciliation Reports
Coordinate Quarterly Cycle Counts with the Materials Manager
Prepare weekly site forecasts and provide variance estimates (Standard to Actual, MUV, PPV)
Lead site annual budget preparation, including standard costs and overhead budgets
Conduct cost analysis for new and existing products
Support Marketing with cost studies
Present financial results to internal stakeholders
Working Conditions
Primarily office-based with frequent interaction in the production facility
Frequent collaboration with plant staff, corporate personnel, and external vendors
Physical Demands
Prolonged sitting, frequent bending, stooping, and stretching
Manual dexterity and occasional lifting
