SUMMARY Responsible for all areas related to financialreporting. This position will be responsible for developing andmaintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures toensure accurate and timely financial statements. The AccountingManager supervises accounts payable and staff accountant(s) and isresponsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properlyallocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. TheAccounting Manager will have contact with senior-level Executivesand the Controller, which requires strong interpersonalcommunication skills both written and verbal.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: Obtain and maintain athorough understanding of the financial reporting and generalledger structure Supervise the daily operations of accountspayable, including electronic payment submissions. Addresses tightdeadlines and a multitude of accounting activities includinggeneral ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end auditpreparation and the support of budget and forecast activitiesEnsure an accurate and timely quarterly and year end close Ensurethe timely reporting of all monthly/quarterly financial informationAssist the Controller in the daily banking requirements Supportbudget and forecasting activities Collaborate with the otherfinance department managers to support overall department goals andobjectives Monitor and analyze department work to develop moreefficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a highlevel of accuracy Respond to inquiries from the VP of Finance,Controller, and other finance and Companywide managers regardingfinancial results, special reporting requests and the like Workwith the controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end auditSupervise the general ledger group to ensure all financialreporting deadlines are met Accurately track and record financialtransactions, using a keen eye for detail to find and correctdiscrepancies to help make important financial and operationaldecisions. Assist in the development and implementation of newprocedures and features to enhance the workflow of the departmentProvided training to new and existing staff as needed Handlepersonnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism,performance issues, etc. Work with each direct report to establishgoals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on theprogress to enhance the professional development of staff Supportcontroller with special projects and workflow process improvementsCommitment to safety begins with management. Managers and frontlinesupervisors are accountable for creating and maintaining a cultureof Safety and assuring a safe work environment. Otherprojects/duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directlysupervise accounts payable and staff accountant personnel
EDUCATIONAND/OR EXPERIENCE BA/BS
in Business with an emphasis or Accountingor related; a minimum of four years related experience and/ortraining in a related field.
