This position acts as the primary contact for Accounts Payable, as well as provides administrative support to the CFO. This position will have supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions:

Assists and oversees Accounts Payable Clerk(s) as needed with reviewing invoices for accuracy of price and quantity and matching to proper approvals: Review invoices for price and quantity discrepancies; Follow up with appropriate department and/or purchasing. Assist as needed with collecting and verifying that all check requests and expense reports are signed by the appropriate Department Head and approved by the

Ensures that all supporting backup is attached. Assist as needed with accurately coding the vendor code, department code, expense account numbers, date, invoice number and invoice amount into the selected computer software system. Assist with capturing data for financial end closings Assist with ensuring accuracy of batch totals by checking the edit journal as needed. Assist with posting all accounts payable batches upon completion of entering. Selects invoices for payments and assists with the AP check run. Assist with reconciling all vendor statements and researches any discrepancies. Assists the CFO/ Accountant with End-of-Month accruals and journal entries: Provide assistance with researching variances to budgeted expenses when requested. Prepare and post journal entries for closings, bank reconciliations, and complete balance sheet reconciliations Assist in preparing the annual budget and complete monthly NC sales tax filings Assists financial auditors in year-end field work. Responsible for maintaining the general ledger chart of accounts and report summaries. Reconciles sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolves differences. Assist with auditing and completing cost report schedules Provides information to managers and physicians; explains accounting transactions; resolves accounting issues and discrepancies. Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, and graphic packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports. Act as a resource for General Ledger Coding of invoices/Purchase Orders to ensure proper captures Any other duties as requested by the CFO or CEO. Adheres to all Hospital Policies and Procedures, specifically Guidelines for Appropriate Conduct, Corporate Compliance, Diversity, and Confidentiality. Demonstrates the spirit of the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital through words and actions and implements them into departmental processes, programs, and the working environment. Education, Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or Healthcare Administration 4 years in Healthcare Administration and/or Accounting in a hospital setting preferred. Management experience preferred. Masters or CPA preferred Effective communication skills; both orally and written. Strong excel skills needed.
