Job Description
SUMMARY:
We are recruiting for a large privately held manufacturer that is starting to acquire new companies to complement their product offering. This Manager of Finance will be on a team that the CFO and President will consult for analysis for due diligence around acquisitions and business strategy. They are looking for someone who can think on their feet and work in models that allow the person to make recommendations. The company has great benefits and want to develop this individual into a leader over time into different parts of the business. The role reports to a great Director and will manage one Analyst. 35% of the job will be month-end financial reporting from a finance perspective and help prepare budgets and forecasts. They will also be preparing the quarterly board packages. 65% of the job will be around special projects over time may include M&A due diligence, strategy, starting up new facilities, joint ventures, long term supply negotiations, and modeling tools used to make business decisions. Compile forecast and plan inputs including standard costs, raw material costs, and pricing Provide forecasting and planning oversight – working with cross-functional teams to validate inputs, drive for consensus, and analyze variances Complete month-end reporting and variance analysis; identify areas of opportunity and risk Leverage IT to improve finance processes and drive value across the organization Monitor and synthesize macroeconomic trends, competitor/peer/customer earnings, and company risk Perform complex analytics and modeling that may include profitability optimization, scenario analysis, cap ex business cases, contract structure, or product line innovation Assist with the annual long-range strategic planning compilation, reporting, and analysis Help assess inorganic business opportunities, develop business cases, and execute transactions
EXPERIENCE
4-year degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of experience from either public accounting, investment banking, M&A, or a manufacturing company Results-oriented self-starter and adaptable team-player Required business skills: analytical and creative problem-solving skills; written/verbal communication; exceptional attention to detail; multi-tasking; sense of urgency and adherence to deadlines; performs well under pressure Strong Excel skills with an emphasis in analyzing data in a way that one can tell a story from the numbers.
