Accounting Operations Manager Southland Companies Wilmington, NC 28403 Accounting Manager Southland Companies in Wilmington, NC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. This would include assisting accounting staff with their questions and concerns as well as their professional growth and development. This position reports to the Controller and will assist her in day-to-day transactions, entering journal entries, reviewing commission reports, cash flow, and financial statements. The Accounting Manager would also assist in the audit process and other special projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, exceptional attention to detail, and a proven track record of success in accounting. Initially the successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing all processes and protocols and making recommendations that will assist the company and the staff to be more efficient and effective. The recommendations would include developing internal controls to safeguard company assets. Once those recommendations are approved the Accounting Manager would also be responsible for implementation. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance management roles. Must be proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with Yardi accounting software a plus. Candidates must have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Must also have proven leadership abilities with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams. Must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines.
