Accounting Manager Position Available In Rowan, North Carolina

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Salisbury, North Carolina. This is a Contract-to-permanent position offering a dynamic opportunity to oversee financial operations and support business growth within the retail food industry. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and contributing to operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the monthly financial close process and provide support to the Controller in managing the company’s financial operations.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including ad hoc analyses and project-related tasks such as lease documentation and administration.
• Manage the company’s accounting system, including tasks like bank reconciliations, journal entries, and sales tax filings.
• Coordinate with external audit firms to ensure compliance with hybrid cash and accrual accounting practices.
• Handle various operational responsibilities, including insurance management, procurement, property maintenance requests, and contract administration.
• Assist in the administration of lease agreements and ensure accurate documentation and compliance.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes as part of a collaborative accounting team.
• Respond to off-hours inquiries and resolve urgent accounting or operational issues when necessary.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support business operations by diving into various accounting and financial areas as needed. Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related operational roles.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, with experience in Sage preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and billing processes.
• Experience with lease agreements and administration, including related financial tasks.
• Familiarity with monthly financial close procedures and financial reporting.
• Ability to work on-site five days a week in a detail-oriented office environment.
• Flexibility to handle occasional off-hours calls or urgent issues as required.
