Description of Work Repost – Previous Applicants Must Reapply To Be Considered For This Vacancy This role is eligible to be Hybrid and has onsite reporting located within Raleigh, NC The Patient Access and Revenue Cycle Manager provides strategic and operational leadership over key components of the healthcare revenue cycle for 13 state-operated healthcare facilities. This role oversees the effective use and integration of Epic modules including Cadence, Grand Central, Professional Billing, Hospital Billing, and Claims, in coordination with Patient Financial Services (PFS), Health Information Management (HIM), and supporting systems such as Hyland OnBase and Clintegrity. This manager ensures systems and workflows support timely and compliant patient access, billing, coding, claims, and reimbursement operations. The role collaborates closely with IT, finance, clinical operations, and vendor partners to optimize processes, promote data integrity, and drive performance.

Key Duties Include:

Direct daily operations and long-term planning for patient access and revenue cycle services, including scheduling, registration, billing, and claims processing. Serve as the primary business lead for Epic modules including Cadence, Grand Central, Professional Billing (PB), Hospital Billing (HB), and Claims across all facilities. Lead the integration and optimization of Epic systems with document management platforms such as Hyland OnBase and Clintegrity. Oversee multidisciplinary teams encompassing supervisors or analysts from Patient Financial Services (PFS), Health Information Management (HIM), and Patient Access. Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with IT, clinical leadership, and compliance staff to support financial and regulatory alignment. Develop and maintain training protocols and performance standards across facilities to ensure consistency and operational effectiveness. Manage system configurations and upgrades in collaboration with Epic application analysts and external vendors. Monitor and ensure compliance with billing, coding, and reimbursement regulations from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Medicaid, and commercial payers. Address system-related issues, enhancement requests, and maintain performance optimization strategies for supported platforms. Analyze and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to patient flow, charge capture, denial management, accounts receivable, and collections. People Management Expectations Deepens social awareness by practicing empathy, service orientation, and political awareness. Handles difficult situations and people with openness, tact, and diplomacy. Proven experience working with billing compliance requirements for Medicaid, Medicare, or other major payers. Applied experience coordinating or supporting changes to system workflows, configurations, or documentation in patient access or financial systems.

Management Preferences:

Familiarity with HIM, claims management, and audit readiness in a large public or private health system. Active and verifiable credentials on the relevant Epic modules for this role.
