Job Description
We are recruiting a Manager, Cost Accounting for a growing company in Raleigh, NC. This role will be responsible for the overall Product costing, ensuring that all costs are fully accounted for to achieve accurate product valuation. This is a new role due to continued growth within the organization. This is a hybrid role in
Raleigh, NC Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the cost accounting functions, including standard cost development, variance analysis, and inventory valuation. Monitor and analyze production costs, material usage, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption. Partner with operations and supply chain teams to understand cost drivers and provide insights for cost optimization. Prepare and analyze monthly cost reports and provide actionable insights to management. Support the budgeting and forecasting process, particularly in relation to cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory. Lead the annual standard cost roll-up and updates, manage and support inventory physical counts and cycle counts. Reconcile perpetual inventory to general ledger and investigate discrepancies. Develop cost models for new products and support pricing decisions. Assist with internal and external audits related to inventory and costing. Continuously improve processes, systems, and reporting tools to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of cost accounting operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred). 5+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting, supervisory experience is a plus Strong knowledge of US GAAP and cost accounting principles. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards). Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
