Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis Manageand oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annualfinancial statements in accordance with GAAP, emphasizing nonprofitrequirements. Collaborate with the Accounting Supervisor to preparemonthly workpapers and assist with the month- end closing process.
Monitor and reconcile bank balances and investment accountsmonthly. Ensure the integrity of the general ledger by overseeingproper reconciliation and closing of accounts. Conduct in-depthfinancial analysis, identify trends and variances, and presentactionable insights to senior leadership. Review and refinereporting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and relevanceof financial information. Budgeting & Planning Lead the annualbudgeting and financial planning process, partnering with internalteams to establish realistic goals and performance metrics. Monitorand forecast financial performance, ensuring alignment withstrategic objectives and identifying opportunities for financialoptimization. Prepare regular budget-to-actual analyses,highlighting key variances and recommending corrective actions. Usekey performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics to highlightareas where corrective actions or improvements are needed, ensuringinsights lead to measurable outcomes. Internal Controls &Compliance Establish, maintain, and monitor internal controls toprotect organizational assets, mitigate risk, and ensure compliancewith regulatory and policy requirements. Serve as the primaryliaison with external auditors, facilitating audit planning,coordinating fieldwork, and addressing any findings orrecommendations. Collaborate with the Audit Committee to ensurestrong governance practices, timely reporting, and transparency.
Team Leadership & Collaboration Supervise and mentor the SrAccounting Specialist, providing guidance on day-to-day operations,professional development, and performance management. Partner withcross-functional teams (e.g., Technology, Membership, Events) toanalyze financial and business data, generating insights thatinform strategic decision-making. Facilitate clear and concisecommunication of financial information to leadership, stakeholders,and the Board of Directors as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor’sdegree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA,MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years ofprogressive accounting/finance experience, including 2-3 years in asupervisory or managerial role. Demonstrated expertise in nonprofitaccounting principles and practices. Proven track record inbudgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experienceliaising with external auditors and supporting audit committeesstrongly preferred.
