JOB FUNCTION
Responsible for coordinating and monitoring all accounting, inventory and bookkeeping procedures. Assists the Director and Assistant Director of Finance as needed, the Chief Executive Officer and/or General Manager. Oversees the Cage, Count Team and Vault Departments. The incumbent collaborates with all Seneca Gaming Entertainment department heads and serves as the primary contact for all budgetary responsibilities relating to the budget cycle which is inclusive of budget formulation/development, budget execution/monitoring, and assisting with fiscal year-end close-out activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Analyzes and recommends solutions for improving controls, ensuring accountability and efficiency, and identifies potential deficiencies. 2. Assists in developing SGE policies and procedures as applicable and as necessary pertaining to the Finance Operations departments; Cage and Count Teams. 3. Review work of the Vault and Cage Cashiers and monitor overages and shortages in the vault areas. 4. Update vault and cage forms and procedures to ensure that the vault operates in an efficient manner. 5. Maintain end of month bingo reports and procedures to ensure that the area operates in an efficient manner. 6. Coordinate procedures to ensure that all reports from the vault and bingo are completed and routed to the Account Support Specialist in a timely manner. 7. Ensure that all required tax reporting is completed. 8. Oversees Vault, Cage and Count Team departments and supervisors with any questions or concerns that may arise; and fill in as Vault or Cage cashier and/or Count Team Associate and/or Cage Supervisor when personnel are unavailable. 9. Document daily attendance records according to policies and procedures. 10. Complete employee evaluations in an efficient and timely manner. 11. Reconcile month end activity. 12. Prepares, documents, and posts and reconciles monthly and year end journal entries. 13. Reviews, approves and reconciles monthly Bingo Point discrepancies. 14. Attend meetings and in-services. 15. Maintain a neat and orderly work area. 16. Performs other duties as assigned. 17. Maintains departmental budgets for expense accounts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older upon employment. Associate’s Degree in Accounting and/or at least three (3) years of experience in bookkeeping. Must have minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience. Must possess excellent math and verbal skills. Must be proficient in MS office including but not limited to Excel. Must be reliable to maintain confidentiality of information. Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays as required. Must pass a background clearance in accordance with National Indian Gaming Commission Regulations to be approved for and maintain a valid Seneca Nation Key license.
