Finance Manager Position Available In Erie, New York

Description We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our team in Lancaster, New York. In this role, you will oversee key financial operations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and supporting the organization’s mission. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while managing diverse financial functions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and advocate for the organization’s core purpose, vision, and values in all financial activities.
• Manage daily accounting operations, including payroll processing and reconciliation.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and oversee the preparation for annual audits in collaboration with external auditors.
• Generate detailed financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Supervise and assign tasks to the Bookkeeper, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Coordinate the development of organizational and departmental budgets.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and file required financial reports.
• Oversee and maintain various insurance policies, including business liability, worker’s compensation, and cyber insurance.
• Provide training and support to personnel on financial processes and systems. Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience leading a financial or accounting department.
• Preferred experience in the nonprofit sector, including familiarity with legal requirements for nonprofit status.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, payroll systems, and database management tools such as Breeze.
• Strong understanding of payroll systems and compliance standards.
• Ability to thrive in a multicultural work environment and collaborate effectively.
• Proven ability to work as part of a team and contribute to collective goals.
• Must reside within the Lancaster, New York area.
