- The Role at a Glance
- We are excited to bring on a Senior Analyst / Director in Alternative Investments.
He/she will research, analyze, and perform due diligence on new investment strategies, managers, and investments, prepare and present investment memo / recommendations, as well as monitor and manage the existing portfolio. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and passion for fundamental investing. In addition, he/she will contribute to market outlook, ongoing reporting requirements, and other internal projects. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders, portfolio managers, and multiple internal groups.
- What you’ll be doing
- Contribute to primary, coinvest, and secondary investments across alternatives strategies including private equity, hybrid credit, and hedge fundsConduct due diligence on current and prospective managers and investments including: meetings and conference calls with senior personnel; review and analysis of fund/investment documents and information, such as offering memoranda, financial statements, due diligence questionnaires, market and regulatory reports.
Assess suitability and risk associated with the execution of investment strategies: prepare and present findings and recommendationsContribute to the idea generation process and identify appropriate investments to key themes, opportunities, and risks in the markets broadlyContribute to portfolio construction, investment allocation, and planning process. Help establish long term investment objectivesFacilitate strategic dialogue, clear communication, and thought leadership between external managers, management teams, and Lincoln’s investment team and senior leadership.
Work closely with internal business units, legal, accounting, operations, and data analytics teamsGenerate reports and analytics to monitor the ongoing performance of managers and specific investment strategies.
- What we’re looking for
- Undergraduate Degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience; educational concentration in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field is preferred3+ years of work experience, ideally in investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, asset management, and/or large institutional investment managementFundamental equity analysis and corporate finance experience (i.
e. capital structure knowledge, fundamental cash flow analysis, accounting concepts, financial statement analysis, etc.)Working knowledge of investment manager operations and best practices across a wide range of strategies and instrumentsIndependent thinker with ability to develop and articulate an independent investment view
