Position Overview:
The Programs Finance Manager owns the design, execution, and optimization of customer rebate and incentive programs, ensuring they drive growth while protecting margins. This role combines financial analysis, margin management, and program design, with close collaboration across Finance, Sales, and Pricing to align strategies with profitability and scalability. Responsibilities include overseeing financial sales activities, managing key customer relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, guiding a financial sales team, and overseeing key accounting processes. The role also leverages advanced analytics to assess performance, inform decisions, and set strategic targets with cross-functional partners. •
Reports To:
Controller Key Responsibilities Program Strategy & Financial Ownership Design, implement, and manage customer rebate, commission, and incentive programs with a focus on margin preservation and profit growth. Monitor and adjust programs based on profitability analysis, ensuring alignment with gross margin targets and corporate financial goals. Rebate & Commission Management Own the end-to-end lifecycle of rebate and commission programs, from setup and approval to payout and reconciliation. Work with sales and finance to ensure all incentive programs are financially sound, scalable, and clearly documented. Pricing & Margin Control Use data to validate that discounting and rebates are not eroding overall profitability. Identify and resolve conflicts between pricing strategies and program incentives. Financial Analysis & Reporting Partner with accounting to ensure accurate accruals, forecasting, and compliance with internal controls. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reviews focused on customer program performance. Cross-Functional Collaboration Provide guidance to the Sales team on program structures and profitability implications. Present recommendations to leadership and advise on strategic adjustments. Oversee accounting processes related to sales programs, including accurate tracking, reconciliation, and reporting of rebates, commissions, and related accruals. Support monthly close processes by preparing journal entries, reviewing financial data, and ensuring accurate recognition of program-related financials Process Improvement & Compliance Establish best practices for program documentation, audit trails, and internal policy adherence. Continuously improve workflows, automate where possible, and increase the transparency of program data across teams.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
Experience:
5+ years in finance, pricing, or program management, with direct experience overseeing customer incentive programs such as rebates or commissions. Strong understanding of gross profit margin management, cost structures, and customer-level profitability. Prior experience with pricing strategies, program modeling, and payment reconciliations.
Skills:
Advanced financial modeling and Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, scenario analysis). Strong analytical thinking and ability to convert complex financial data into actionable insights.
