Role:

The Director,Revenue Accounting Operations plays a key leadership role inConfluent’s revenue recognition and order to cash process. You willlead the Revenue Accounting Operations team and will partner withSales Ops, FP&A, Technical Revenue, Accounts Receivable, aswell as many other cross-functional business partners. In thisrole, you will ensure the timeliness and accuracy of our revenuerecognition in compliance with

ASC 606, ASC

340, our internalaccounting policies, and SEC reporting deadlines. You will achievethis by developing and mentoring both the US Corporate revenueoperations team and the Shared Services team in India. You willchampion our SOX controls and drive scalable process improvements.

You will also be involved in the operationalization of new revenueproducts and policies. The ideal candidate is an experienced CPAwith at least 12 years of progressively responsible experience at aBig 4 public accounting firm and a publicly traded, high-techorganization with a minimum of 7 years in revenue specific roles.

You should have experience from a global, growing software companythat has on-premise software revenue and SaaS.

What You Will Do:

• Own and lead the global revenue close and reporting process,including the review of key controls, reconciliations, and othervarious forecast and reporting deliverables
• Propose and leadthrough to completion significant process improvements, includingautomations and system implementations
• Play a critical role, incollaboration with FP&A and other teams, in the Company’squarterly revenue forecasting process
• Develop and train a growingRevenue Accounting Operations Team, across both US and India teams.

Execute on a clear roadmap of workload allocation between globalteams, maximizing efficiency and decreasing risk

• Review andprovide thought leadership on revenue accounting policies andprocesses to maximize revenue results and team productivity
• Manage clean execution of internal controls and continue a focus onimproving SOX coverage
• Act as a subject matter expert inaccounting for usage-based SaaS contracts, on-premise termlicenses, related professional services and education
• Partnerwith the Accounts Receivable team, obtain a deep understanding ofbilling processes and associated revenue recognition impactsdownstream

What You Will Bring:

• BA/BS degree in Accounting,Finance or related field
• CPA certification or equivalentpractical experience
• 12 years of progressively responsibleexperience at either a Big 4 public accounting firm or a global,publicly traded high-tech organization with a minimum of 7 years ina revenue role
• Experience in a leadership role in revenueaccounting operations at a publicly-traded company
• Strongknowledge of US GAAP, primarily revenue recognition (ASC 606) as itapplies to on-premise software revenue and SaaSExperience withrevenue system or ERP implementations or significant enhancementprojects
• Attention to detail and experience multitasking andprioritizing to deliver impact in a fast-paced environment
• Stronganalytical and problem resolution skills, including the ability toresearch accounting literature and simplify complex situations
• Excellent interpersonal skills (oral and written) and the abilityto communicate effectively with all levels at the company
• StrongExcel skills
• Experience using Netsuite, Netsuite ARM, and/orother revenue accounting systems
• Usage-based SaaS contractexperience a strong plus
