Responsible for managing two staff, recording and reviewing revenue entries, account reconciliations and providing financial accounting data and analysis related to the entire organization. Duties require attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently, as well as with others. Provide direct support to the CFO, as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Fundraising Campaign Audit•Responsible for the internal audit of all campaign results ensuring accurate accounting of pledge income, any restrictions, and cash receipts submitted with the donor’s pledge, and that all appropriate authorizations are submitted. Work with Philanthropy Team to resolve any issues such as unsigned pledge forms, in-kind revenue, multi-year pledges, prepaid revenue or errors in reporting campaign pledges. Verify accuracy of data input, make any corrections and update records upon completion. Record all General Ledger entries pertaining to the pledge reporting process.
Manage Senior Accountant, Campaign and Staff Accountant, Accounts Receivable.
Pledge Payment and Collections•Compare individual campaign results with fundraising campaign remittances to ensure that all donor pledges are recorded properly and that workplace fundraising campaign remittances contain all authorized payroll deductions. Research to ensure pledge payments are recorded to the correct account and campaign year. Prepare monthly reports of collection activity and institute corrective action for overdue accounts when necessary. Meet monthly with Philanthropy staff to review donor accounts. Provide monthly status reports on pledge collections, including analysis of the bad debt reserve and recommendation of whether the reserve should be adjusted.
Analyze trends in donor activity in collaboration with Philanthropy department and Development Operations.
Perform financial planning and analysis to inform short and long-term strategic decision-making.
Donor Designations•Responsible for the verification of all eligible designations to 501 (c) 3 organizations through the annual campaign. Manage the process for the annual vetting of 501(c) 3 agencies with Candid (or other similar agency) to insure agencies in the accounts payable system are in compliance with IRS nonprofit status. Supervise the processing and reporting for all quarterly and monthly donor designation payments to agencies in a timely manner in accordance with United Way Worldwide standards.
National Campaigns•Support the Philanthropy team on the management and coordination of national campaigns. Serve as the primary contact regarding pledge processing, donor designations, designation payouts and reporting. Reconcile Andar to MyFund (donor advised fund).
Good Neighbor Energy Fund (GNEF)

Bookkeeping:

Responsible for overseeing bookkeeping and reporting for GNEF. Assist in the budgeting process and monthly analysis of actual to budget and the forecast.

Balance Sheet Reconciliations:

monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, as assigned and preparation of monthly financial reports.
In consultation with CFO, prepare the quarterly temporary restricted net asset roll forward.
Provide financial analysis as requested.

Other Duties:

assist in preparing the annual 990, DB2 and annual audit and other duties as requested by the CFO.
Backup for MyFund, Senior Accountant, Campaign and Staff Accountant, Accounts Receivable.

Equity Growth Plan:

Develop and implement a personalized, individual equity growth plan. Participate in annual equity training. Support UWRI initiatives (e.g., Equity Challenge) and participate/ agency groups (e.g., Heritage and Professionals, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and Culture, Equity and Strengths Committee (CES). Participate in community, state or national (e.g., United Way Worldwide) equity growth opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting required CPA a plus
Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting preferred
Knowledge of accounting principles required
5 years of experience working with donors and/or customer service preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
Proficient in PowerBI a plus
Proficient in financial planning and analysis preferred
Experience with Asana project management software a plus
Accuracy and attention to detail required
Proactive and well organized
