Gilbane is seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager that is a mid-level management professional capable of fulfilling the managerial requirements of all aspects of the general ledger and external financial reporting. The position is responsible for the month end close process, financial reporting, interactions with 3rd party contacts, as well as primary interface with business unit financial management and peers in corporate accounting. Also responsible for the development of all general accounting staff. This role will sit primarily in the office. Who are we? Responsibilities Preparing and/or reviewing appropriate general ledger entries and reconciliations
Maintain the general ledger system and chart of accounts
Review and consolidate timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements; assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of joint venture and subsidiary financial statements to necessary partners or external parties
Prepare accurate quarterly financial packages for banks, bonding companies, and other 3rd parties
Research accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Serve as liaison and coordinate activities with external auditors, tax preparers, or other 3rd party contacts
Act as key liaison to business unit controllers and managers to corporate finance department for financial reporting and GL needs
Develop, maintain, and reinforce positive professional relationships both internally and externally
Hire, train, supervise and mentor all general ledger accounting staff, including Finance Development Program accountants
Ensure timely and accurate account and bank reconciliations are completed as well as reconciling items addressed on a timely basis Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION BS

degree in Accounting or Finance
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
MBA or other advanced degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
5+ years of experience working in a public accounting firm with construction clients and/or general accounting work with a CM or General Contractor organization
Supervisor experience (2-3 years preferred)
Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Excellent interpersonal/relationships and communication skills (both verbal and written)
Strong understanding of GAAP requirements and their applicability to financial reporting
Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment and prioritize optimally, with consideration of broader team goals
Proven track record to delegate and lead team to accomplish business goals, ability to assess and develop talent
Strong sense of purpose
Adaptable, dynamic problem solver
Proficient in CMiC and/or Microstrategy or working knowledge with large ERP system preferred Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team. For Rhode Island, this ranges from $109,600.00-$137,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
