un ⚐ ⚑ ⚑ Finance Manager – Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra (Hilton Head Island, SC) Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, Inc. ‹ image 1 of 1 › 7 Lagoon Road near Suite 100 compensation: $34,320 per year employment type: experience level: mid level job title: Finance Manager The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial operations of the HHSO, including financial planning, control, and reporting. The Finance Manager works with other staff to prepare the annual operating budget, produce monthly financial statements, and administer payrolls, among other duties.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Developing sound financial and administrative procedures and internal controls for accounting, auditing, budgeting, purchasing, payroll, and administrative service functions to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and transparency.
- Managing the HHSO’s daily financial activities, including financial record keeping, production of financial statements, and personnel records.
- Preparing analysis and recommendations based on historical financial performance and projections.
- Leading the annual budgeting process, in cooperation with the President and CEO and other staff for Finance Committee and Board of Directors approval and working toward a multi-year budgeting effort.
- Processing and maintaining the orchestra’s revenue and expense records, and producing monthly financial statements, including cash flow projections.
- Establishing and directing payroll and tax payment systems; preparing and maintaining all payroll records and reporting, assuring compliance with all legal requirements and organizational objectives; preparing and submitting federal, state, and local tax and withholding forms.
- Working with the independent auditors in preparation of the annual audit report and filing of Form 990.
- Maintaining property, equipment, and instrument inventory records and depreciation schedules.
- Overseeing annual insurance quoting, binding, and administering.
- Performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or higher
- A passionate appreciation for our art form
- Five years or more of relevant experience, ideally, with a not-for-profit organization
- Ability to manage time, workflow, prioritize projects, and multitask
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial accounting software
