Job Description

Description Our client is a stable, privately-owned business with a long history in the Columbia market. This service-based organization is hiring an Accounting Manager to work as the right-hand to the Controller. The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily activities of the accounting department to quickly and accurately record revenue as it relates to billing and monitoring expenses related to postage. The Accounting Manager should be a highly motivated self-starter with supervisory experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Ensure day-to-day transactions are recorded properly. + Supervise, direct, and review the work of the accounting/support staff, including but not limited to, cash postings, accounts receivables, reconciliations, etc. + Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling customer accounts and monthly customer statements. + Responsible for bank and accounts receivable reconciliations. + Work closely with management to streamline processes and accuracy of reporting. + Assist with month end close. + Resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation or adjustments. + Post and reconcile customer invoices in the financial system. Requirements Position Requirements + A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Accounting. + At least 5 years’ experience in financial statement preparation, accounts receivable and financial reporting. + Supervisory experience. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. + Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail. + Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records. + Time management skills and the ability to multitask. + Ability to work with minimal supervision. + Effective communication and training skills while working with diverse groups as part of a team. + Ability to positively interact with internal and external customers.
