Accounting Manager/Supervisor
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead and oversee the financial operations for our organization in Columbia, South Carolina. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage a team, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of accounting practices and financial systems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the accounting team by providing clear communication, performance feedback, and opportunities for growth.
- Prepare regulatory reports quarterly
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, manage the general ledger, and ensure accurate reconciliation processes.
- Monitor operating budgets, evaluate variances, and address financial discrepancies proactively.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, including timely filing of required reportss.
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support informed decision-making.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and uphold the integrity of financial information.
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process in collaboration with senior leadership, setting guidelines and deadlines for departmental budgets.
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual reports, assist with audits, and respond to regulatory inquiries.
- Utilize advanced accounting software and financial tools to streamline processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
- Proven experience in accounting management, with a strong understanding of financial practices and reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software systems and financial technology, including ERP systems.
- Expertise in managing accounting functions, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Familiarity with financial regulations specific to the banking or credit union industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, including coaching and performance evaluation.
- Experience in the financial industry is required
