We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated RCM Training Specialist to join our CBO team. This role will support new and existing Receptionists, Clinic Administrators, and Billing and Collections team members across all SCPA locations by facilitating educational and training programs in collaboration with PCC and PedsOne personnel. Position Overview The RCM Training Specialist will develop a comprehensive understanding of the entire revenue cycle management process- covering systems, reports, and available resources. This includes every step from scheduling a patient to receiving claim payments, and identifying how each part of the cycle impacts payment outcomes. The role includes implementing a feedback loop for clinic and staff performance improvement. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with the CBO management team to generate operational, productivity, billing, collections, and financial performance reports on each clinic and employee. The specialist will also help implement action plans and best practices to standardize workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance financial performance at all SCPA clinic locations. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, eager to learn, and possess strong leadership and communication skills. They should be able to influence behavior, develop training curricula, and create impactful presentations.
Key Responsibilities Self-Education:
Work with internal and external stakeholders to master all roles related to Revenue Cycle Management and front desk operations.
Recruitment Support:
Collaborate with HR and the Director of Operations to improve recruitment and retention of receptionists across SCPA.
Training Delivery:
Create and implement engaging educational programs (with fun themes where appropriate); provide hands-on and ongoing training to front desk, billing, and collections staff.
Meetings:
Conduct regular individual and team meetings with Clinic Administrators, Receptionists, and Billing/Collections staff to share best practices, review KPIs, and promote continuous improvement.
Orientation:
Lead sessions for new hires (and others in need of retraining) to reinforce protocols, procedures, and organizational culture.
Training Materials:
Develop training programs, manuals, e-learning modules, and workshops to enhance RCM and clerical performance.
Assessment:
Evaluate staff performance and competencies using assessments, observations, and feedback. Analyze reports to identify areas for improvement and implement individualized development plans.
Collaboration:
Partner with department heads and managers to identify training priorities and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Staffing Support:
Assist the Director of Operations in evaluating staffing needs based on patient census and propose optimized coverage models.
Support Role:
Act as a liaison between PCC, PedsOne, the CBO, and all SCPA clinics. Serve as a go-to resource for RCM and clerical staff.
Change Implementation:
Address front desk weaknesses and help correct claim denial/rejection trends.
Workflow Improvement:
Identify cross-training opportunities and help optimize workloads to improve patient and family experiences.
Phone Etiquette Development:
Train Receptionists on more effective call-handling techniques to reduce unnecessary call transfers.
