CYCLE DIRECTOR
The Revenue Cycle Director reports to the CEO and is responsible for management of the entire revenue cycle. Optimizes reimbursements and maintains cash flow at acceptable level. Responsible for continued improvement of assigned staff through education, training and positive reinforcement of appropriate working practices.
Responsibilities include:
Manage the
Revenue Cycle:
Ensures daily electronic billing submission to appropriate payers and oversees all aspects of billing, coding, collections, denials, authorizations, and quality assurance.
Vendor and Payer Relationships:
Manage relationships with external payors, vendors and clearinghouses.
Financial Performance:
Oversees ongoing analysis of contract compliance and financial performance for payers. Uses data to conduct preliminary contract negotiations with CEO and payers. Proactively identifies and resolves reimbursement issues.
Staff Management and Training:
Mentor revenue department staff and provide new hire and ongoing education in billing processes as well as coding and billing regulations and industry trends.
Billing Policies and Compliance:
Develop, implement, and revise billing, coding, and reimbursement policies while adhering to HIPAA and regulatory compliance.
Financial Reporting and Reconciliation:
Reconcile receivables and revenue, collaborating with finance/administration and providing accurate reporting.
Credentialing and Enrollment:
Coordinate with credentialing staff to ensure enrollment or re-enrollment with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial payers is complete and accurate.
Claims and Collections Management:
Resolve billing issues, monitor collections, evaluate third-party reimbursements, and ensure accurate claim processing.
Compliance and Strategic Planning:
Stay updated on reimbursement policies, maintain internal controls, and develop strategies for improving billing practices and revenue management. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
5 years of related physician office revenue cycle management experience Experience with EPIC billing. OB/GYN and lab experience preferred. Knowledge of third-party payer requirements, including federal, state, and private healthcare plans and authorization processes. Proven experience in healthcare billing. Understanding of insurance policies, reimbursement practice and Medicaid/Medicare coding and reimbursement processes. Expertise in process development and execution.
