Patient Financial Services Director Full-time (Exempt) We’re looking for an experienced and dedicated Patient Financial Services Director to lead our vital team at a Critical Access Hospital in beautiful rural Tennessee. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the financial health of our community-focused hospital. About the Role As our Patient Financial Services Director, you’ll be responsible for the overall strategic direction and operational oversight of our hospital’s revenue cycle. You’ll ensure efficient and compliant patient billing, collections, and financial services, directly impacting our ability to provide essential healthcare to our neighbors. This role is crucial for maintaining our financial stability and supporting our mission. Key Responsibilities Directing all aspects of patient financial services, including billing, collections, claims, and denials management. Optimizing the revenue cycle process to maximize reimbursement and minimize outstanding accounts. Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and payer regulations (e.g., CMS, HIPAA). Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing patient financial services team. Collaborating with clinical departments, IT, and other administrative teams to streamline processes. Analyzing financial data to identify trends, improve performance, and prepare reports for leadership. Managing vendor relationships related to patient financial services. Qualifications Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field — or equivalent experience. Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle management, including billing, denials management, coding, and compliance. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a dynamic environment. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency with hospital information systems and billing software.
