Accounting Manager Position Available In Rutherford, Tennessee

Description Our client is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join their team in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This is a contract position expected to last through July, with potential for extension or transition to a permanent role. The ideal candidate will play a key role in overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance, and driving efficiency in financial processes.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring preliminary reports are completed promptly and final close is achieved within four days.
• Manage customer billing operations and ensure accurate processing of invoices.
• Maintain and track fixed assets, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including adjustments, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Collaborate on manual budgeting and forecasting activities to support organizational planning.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulatory requirements, particularly for a publicly-held company.
• Supervise and lead the accounting team, ensuring deadlines are met and processes are streamlined.
• Coordinate audit preparation and address internal and external audit requests.
• Utilize Dynamics and Excel tools such as pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and SUMIFs to analyze and manage financial data.
• Assist in transitioning financial systems to new platforms as needed. Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, including leadership roles.
• Proficiency in month-end close processes, including journal entries and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of fixed asset management and compliance requirements.
• Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other functions.
• Familiarity with accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, OneStream, or similar platforms.
• Ability to manage audits and address compliance requirements effectively.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate financial concepts to cross-functional teams.
