Job Description:
The Sanctions & List Screening Manager will be responsible for oversight of day-to-day operations including list screening processes and associated investigations.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Assist Officer with development and implementation of sanctions and list screening policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Manage the day-to-day operations of the sanctions and list screening team, including the screening of customers, transactions, and counterparties against sanctions lists and watchlists. Conduct ongoing monitoring and testing of the sanctions screening program to identify and address any gaps or deficiencies. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Compliance, Legal, Risk Management, and Operations, to ensure alignment of sanctions screening processes with overall business objectives. Stay abreast of changes in sanctions regulations and industry trends, and proactively update policies and procedures as necessary. Provide guidance and training to staff on sanctions screening processes, including the identification of sanctions-related red flags and escalation procedures. Lead investigations into potential sanctions violations, working closely with relevant stakeholders to gather evidence, assess risk, and implement appropriate remedial actions.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree preferred. 5-10 years of operations experience, or relevant work experience in the financial services industry. Knowledge of applicable bank regulations. Strong understanding of international sanctions regulations, including OFAC, EU, UN, and other relevant sanctions regimes. Proven track record of supervisingeffective financial crimes compliance operations processes and teams. CAMS or CGSS certification required.
