The Accounting Manager is a pivotal member of the division’s leadership team and will be responsible for guiding the finance team towards achieving excellence. This position requires close collaboration with managers to analyze financial, operational, and key performance metrics, thereby aiding in the decision-making process for the Division. Additionally, the role involves engaging with other members of the Leadership Team to promote strong collaboration, transparency, and teamwork within the Division. The Accounting Manager is also entrusted with overseeing the training, development, and growth opportunities of finance department personnel. This Accounting Manager reports directly to the Division Controller and is considered a developmental role. The successful candidate will be expected to be ready to pursue a Department Manager role within 3-5 years, which includes relocating. Accounting Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: General ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, tax, financial and compliance reporting, forecasting, assisting with annual budget, monthly balancing, inventory management, and recording and timely reporting of accounting records/transactions, etc.
Responsible for the implementation, communication, and interpretation of accounting and financial policies, as well as for overseeing control and system improvements.
Supervising external and internal audit processes to ensure proper internal controls are maintained.
Provides analytical support to other departments concerning accounting issues and drives continuous cost improvements across all facets of the business. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for Visa sponsorship (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a Visa now or in the future)
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
Minimum of 3 years work experience in a financial related position

Preferred Qualifications:

CPA, CMA, Master’s Degree, or MBA
Manufacturing or Cost Accounting experience
Leadership/supervisory experience
