Job Description

Accounting Manager – Brentwood, TN or North Little Rock, AR We are currently looking for a highly skilled and detail-focused accounting manager to lead the daily operations of our accounting team. Based out of either our Brentwood, TN or North Little Rock, AR office, this position plays a key role in managing our financial reporting processes, maintaining accurate financial data, and ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, a deep understanding of accounting fundamentals, and a commitment to best-in-class financial practices. What you’ll be doing: Take ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. Manage consolidation of financials across our 20+ service locations, safeguarding the consistency and reliability of the general ledger. Ensure alignment with GAAP standards, including correct application of ASC 606 for both service agreements and long-term contracts. Lead and develop a team of senior and staff accountants, fostering a performance-driven and collaborative environment. Create, refine, and uphold strong internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial policies. Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, overseeing schedules, documentation, and audit responses. Analyze and report on SG&A expenditures, identifying insights, variances, and cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with leaders across departments (HR, IT, Marketing, Facilities, etc.) to track and manage spending relative to budget and forecasts. Support budgeting and forecasting efforts through historical data analysis and trend evaluation. Enhance reporting capabilities with dashboards and financial packages that provide clarity into company performance. Spearhead process improvements, including automation and efficiencies in reporting, reconciliations, and allocations. Provide accounting support during system implementations and contribute to financial scalability as the business expands. Play a strategic role in projects like M&A integrations, process optimization, and financial modeling. What we’re looking for: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA certification is strongly preferred. Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a service-oriented industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Background in industries such as equipment services, industrial field services, construction, or ongoing maintenance services is highly desirable. Experience supporting departmental budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams on financial matters. Familiarity with financial system upgrades, analytics, or process improvement initiatives. In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, especially contract-based accounting (ASC 606). Demonstrated success in managing SG&A analysis and contributing to cost-efficiency initiatives. Proven track record leading month-end close processes, mentoring accounting staff, and managing external audits. Prior experience in multi-entity or multi-location environments is a plus. Advanced Excel proficiency and hands-on experience with ERP platforms such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or Great Plains. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, working effectively with both operations teams and senior leadership.
