Responsibilities 1. Incorporate and comply with the FSC Fiscal Management Policies and Procedures as it pertains to daily functions and activities; 2. Maintain accounting records of revenues, expenses, i.e. budget to actual for assigned grants/funding sources; 3. Ensure the timely and accurate completion of reimbursements, reports, and other documentation; 4. Prepare and/or review all applicable monthly, quarterly and annual payroll filings; 5. Accurately enter cash receipts and manual checks by the 8th day of the month; 6. Prepare monthly requests and budgets for assigned grants/funding sources and check for accuracy. Prepares quarterly and annual reports for assigned funding sources, as required by grant guidelines; 7. Maintain paid invoice files for each grant or funding source as required by grant guidelines; 8. Assist in coding invoices for payment according to grant/funding source. Process coded invoices for payment; 9. Verify accuracy of employee time sheets and maintain accrued leave balances. Prepare payroll on a bi-weekly basis. Submit payroll tax deposit in accordance with Federal and state law; 10. Receive bank and investment statements from Financial Director or by mail and reconcile by the 12th of each month; 11. Prepare monthly journal entries for preparation of the financial statements, including but not limited to bank and investment accounts, insurance, depreciation, DV Trust Fund, credit cards, payroll taxes and other journal entries as requested; 12. Provide backup, on regular rotation for Victim Services Assistant at front desk. 13. Adhere to all FSC policies and procedures including but not limited to confidentiality, documentation and data input, fiscal management and the personal handbook. 14. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Two years of experience in non-profit accounting preferred, or 5 years’ accounting experience.
- Grants experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong computer skills in current Microsoft applications to include Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PPT
- Proficient written and oral communication with the demonstrated ability to write for a specialized audience
- Proficient in financial related software applications, MIP/Abila preferred
