Job Description

Brown & Brown is seeking a Finance & Accounting Specialist to join or growing team. This position can be based in our Tallahassee or Jacksonville office. The Finance and Accounting Specialist will train to support the region through finance and operations functions, FP&A, and strategic planning. This position works closely with our Centers of Excellence, Client Account Managers, Business Partners, Senior Business Partners, and Team Leaders.

How You Will Contribute:

Supports monthly finance functions by generating reports and pulling data to monitor monthly activity. Compiles and reviews data and reports for accuracy while ensuring procedure protocols are followed to support month-end and ad hoc finance functions. Assists Business Partners with preparing budgets and forecasts. Corrects erroneous entries to uphold data integrity within our systems. Acts as a liaison between the Center of Excellence (COE) and the Profit Center to help troubleshoot, make corrections, and answer questions. Works closely with Finance Business Partner to support all finance functions and assist with projects as needed. Reviews and monitors monthly financial activity, data integrity within our systems, and financial accuracy. Partners with Department Team Leads, Profit Center Leaders, and Senior Finance Business Partners through FP&A and strategic planning. Responsible for financial planning and analysis to help departments and the office achieve goals and targets. Participates with budget preparation and learn the entire budget process, work with PCL and department leaders to create the annual budget and quarterly Latest Estimates. Prepares Ad hoc and monthly financial reporting. Helps mentor, train and oversee finance staff. Skills and Experience to

Be Successful:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of 2-5 years’ experience in Finance or Accounting. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to travel 10-20% of the time; Travel may include but not limited to B&B offices and attending B&B training and events. This position requires routine or periodic travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are requirements of this position.
