Full Job Description Job Summary:

This full-time position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work with multiple community organizations, volunteers, and partners to facilitate the VITA tax clinics and execute the Making Sense of Money (MSOM) program. This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Financial Stability Programs as needed.

Evaluation:

The Director of Financial Stability Programs, following adopted policies of Community Partnership of the Ozarks, evaluates the Financial Stability Specialist.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business management, education, social work, or related field from an accredited college or university preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required; Flexible schedule and must be able to work some evenings and weekends; Knowledge of local/community resources; Strong computer skills, especially internet and Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher); Excellent written and oral communication skills; Public speaking and facilitation skills; Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to take a team approach in developing relationships within the agency and with the public and private sectors; Able to work with people from all socio-economic levels, backgrounds, and professional levels; Strong analytical skills and ability to measure and evaluate program performance; Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; Understanding of the grant writing process; Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; Must be able to effectively communicate the mission and work of Community Partnership of the Ozarks, Inc.

Essential Functions:

Develop and maintain working relationships with community organizations, partner agencies, VITA Site Coordinators, and volunteers; Recruit and retain volunteers; Collaborate with VITA team to coordinate appointments for the clinics that are appointment-based; Coordinate and facilitate MSOM Basic Budgeting Series and Extra Credit Time events; Implement marketing strategies to promote the VITA and MSOM programs and recruit participants and/or volunteers for VITA tax clinics and MSOM events; Work with VITA team to manage database of all tax clients; Certify as an advanced volunteer tax preparer and assist in VITA tax clinics; Assist the VITA Site Coordinators with other duties as needed; Coordinate Graduate Services; Establish new partnerships with community organizations to expand services to under-served and minority populations; Document in-kind services, numbers served, outcome measures, etc. as required for reports to grand and funding sources; Understand and identify funding sources and opportunities for Financial Stability programs; Maintain integrity and confidentiality; Communicate regularly with the Director of Financial Stability and other stakeholders to ensure expedient and effective implementation of services and programs; Participate in relevant professional development and training opportunities; Participate in CPO’s resource development/fundraising activities; Other duties as assigned.

Reporting Structure:

The Financial Stability Specialist reports to the Director of Financial Stability Programs.

Position Clarification:

The position of Financial Stability Specialist is a grant-funded position and is based upon funding availability. This is a non-exempt, full-time position. Grant funding dictates the pay range for this position. CPO receives federal grants and contracts and therefore must comply with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988.
