Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
: This position supports the Camp & Retreat Ministries in the Admin Office by processing accounts payable, as well as assisting with Human Resources, employee benefits, and other administrative duties. The position is a key point of contact between the public and the organization, as well as an important liaison with staff at the camps.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: – Accounts Payable (Blackbaud FENXT, Papersave) – Key invoices and other payments to AP – Print checks for signing or otherwise remit payments – Collect vendor W-9s as needed – Corporate Cards (Divvy Bill & Spend) – Review card activity for proper account coding, editing for sales taxes paid – Human Resources (ADP, Workbright) – Report new hires to NC DHHS each month – Monitor new employee paperwork for proper signatures, completeness – Ensure Termination and Hiring Checklists are completed – Maintain organized employee records in payroll system and office files – E-Verify compliance – Review all I-9 documentation in Workbright – Benefits Administration – Communicate benefit offerings to new full time staff and assist with enrollments – Communicate benefit terminations to providers as needed and ensure timely notification of COBRA benefits – Monitor monthly invoices from benefits providers to ensure proper billing – Board of Directors & Other Administrative Support – Work with Executive Director to generate and distribute BOD packets in advance of each meeting – Maintain organized records of BOD meetings – Ad hoc requests from the Executive Director – Admin support duties include answering the phone, processing mail, ordering supplies, and other misc. support as needed
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
:
- Bachelor or Associate degree in accounting or business, or experience in lieu of degree
- Ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and independence
- Very strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Proficient with accounting software and comfortable working in a paperless, digital environment
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality with personal information
- Enthusiasm for process improvement, with an ability to improve workflows and enhance efficiencies
- Working knowledge of general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts, and accounting principles
- Ability to troubleshoot, follow up, and resolve problems with staff at other locations
- Strong planning, multitasking, and organizational skills to balance and prioritize duties
