Full Job Description Job Description:

The ACH Reconciliation Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely reconciliation of ACH transactions, identifying discrepancies, investigating root causes, and working with internal teams to resolve any issues. This role will involve working closely with the finance and accounting departments to ensure smooth processing and reporting of ACH transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ACH processes, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of ACH payments and debits, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in financial systems. Identify and investigate discrepancies in ACH transactions by reviewing bank statements, ACH reports, and internal records. Proactively communicate with stakeholders to resolve any issues. Generate and maintain reconciliation reports, highlighting discrepancies, aging items, and other relevant findings for management review. Work closely with the finance, accounting, and operations teams to resolve payment-related issues, including chargebacks, errors, and any discrepancies. Identify opportunities to streamline the ACH reconciliation process and implement improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness. Ensure all ACH transactions adhere to regulatory standards and company policies, maintaining a high level of data security and confidentiality. Assist in troubleshooting ACH-related system issues, such as failed payments, incorrect postings, or system errors, and escalate complex issues to higher-level management as necessary. Maintain accurate records of all reconciliations, investigations, and resolutions in compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Provide support to internal teams and clients regarding ACH-related inquiries, including transaction status, payment issues, and clarification of ACH processes.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of five (5) years of deposit and/or branch operations experience, or relevant work experience in the financial services industry. Minimum of 2 years of experience in ACH reconciliation, payments processing, or financial analysis. Familiarity with ACH software and financial systems (e.g., FIS, ACI, etc.). Knowledge of ACH rules and regulations, including NACHA guidelines. Knowledge of State and Federal regulations affecting deposit accounts. Knowledge of Jack Henry product suites preferred. NACHA Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification is a plus.

Key Competencies:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and other Microsoft Office applications.
