Team members share and rotate responsibilities across critical areas to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate custom-built software systems to build, reconcile, and process high volumes of daily electronic check deposits (Image Cash Letters). Develop and manage reconciliation modules for check processing and funding obligations, supporting internal and external daily settlement requirements. Handle the full accounting lifecycle for thousands of monthly check returns—including notifications, corrective actions, redeposits, reconciliation, and reporting integration. Assemble and report daily settlement data for payment processing programs, ensuring transparency and accountability. Perform reconciliations to verify accurate settlements, fulfillment of partner obligations, and completion of all processing items. Serve as a key liaison with sponsoring banks, providing daily accounting, reconciliation data, and settlement instructions. Collaborate with internal teams to gather and share transaction insights and support timely issue resolution.
Qualifications:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and various functions for data analysis. Strong mathematical and analytical skills for identifying trends, mismatches, and inconsistencies. Expertise in data validation, comparison analysis, and resolution of data discrepancies. Proven ability to manage exceptions, track issues, and perform root cause analysis. Comfortable working under strict daily deadlines in high-volume environments. Experience performing detailed account reconciliation and analytical review of financial transactions. Skilled in clearly communicating exceptions and variances to internal and external stakeholders. Highly organized and effective in structured, process-driven environments. Solid understanding of transaction processing workflows and system-generated outputs.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with payments processing and financial transaction settlement. Experience with check and return check processing in a banking or financial institution setting. Proficiency in navigating online banking portals and performing account reconciliations. Experience reconciling system-generated transaction reports with third-party data sources.
