Equity Capital Markets Investment Analyst / Associate We are seeking a highly analytical and intellectually curious investment professional to join multi-strategy hedge fund’s Equity Capital Markets (ECM) team.
This role will focus on evaluating and executing investment opportunities across the ECM spectrum, including IPOs, follow-ons, blocks, converts, PIPEs, and private/crossover transactions.
As part of a small, high-performing team, you will play a key role in developing investment theses, conducting fundamental research, and engaging with key market participants.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong financial modeling capabilities, a keen understanding of capital markets, and a passion for equity investing.
Key Responsibilities

Investment Due Diligence & Analysis:

Perform deep fundamental research and financial analysis on prospective ECM opportunities. Evaluate company financials, management quality, competitive positioning, and key risk factors.

Financial Modeling & Valuation:

Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation frameworks. Conduct price and sensitivity analyses, develop forecasts, and support investment theses with rigorous quantitative and qualitative inputs.

Market Engagement:

Participate in meetings and calls with management teams, sell-side research analysts, ECM bankers, Sales & Trading professionals, consultants, and key opinion leaders. Synthesize insights into actionable recommendations.

Monitoring & Research Infrastructure:

Maintain and update tracking systems for key market catalysts including lock-up expirations, earnings releases, conference calls, target lists, and other relevant events that impact investment decisions.
Collaboration with

Quantitative Teams:

Work closely with quantitative researchers to explore innovative methods for analyzing equity capital markets dynamics, leveraging data science and automation tools.

Strategic Advisory Thinking:

Apply advisory principles to help shape investment themes, identify pipeline opportunities, and build strategic relationships with counterparties in the ECM ecosystem.
Required Qualifications

Experience:

4-8 years of professional experience in investment banking, sell-side equity capital markets.

Analytical & Financial Acumen:

Proven ability to conduct financial statement analysis and build sophisticated financial models. Strong understanding of capital structure, valuation techniques, and key investment metrics.

Communication Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to distill complex analyses into clear, concise investment narratives for internal and external stakeholders.

Research & Diligence:

Hands-on experience working with data rooms, cap tables, corporate filings, investor presentations, and regulatory disclosures.

Team Orientation:

Comfortable working in a lean, collaborative team that values intellectual rigor, creative thinking, and a multidisciplinary approach to investing.
