Description:
Lead origination of new PE & VC investment opportunities (funds and co-investments) in assigned target geographies. Lead due diligence and quantitative/qualitative analysis on companies and assets across stages (i.e., buyout, venture capital/growth equity, etc.), industries and geographies. Lead preparation of investment thesis and Investment Committee (IC) paper preparation. These memos should include areas such as industry trends, market and competition, investment strategies, detailed evaluation of financials forecasts and return sensitivity, detailed risk analysis. Present and advocate for the investment proposal at team peer review and IC meetings. Maintain and develop a deep network of market relationships (including managers, advisors, intermediaries, and other limited partners). Develop and mentor junior team members. Contribute, in a lead role, to business development initiatives such as portfolio modelling/planning, fund raising, new product development and business process optimization. Perform commercial negotiations on PE investments utilizing Australian tax structure.
Required:
Bachelors degree with major or concentration Finance, Economics or related field & 2 years of experience as Portfolio Manager, or as a Private Equity Financial Analyst/Associate.
Special Skills, Other Special Skills or Requirements:
Qualified candidates must also have demonstrable knowledge, experience, skill or proficiency with the following:
- Advanced skills and experience in complex financial modeling, including LBO modeling, M&A modeling, DCF analysis, and cash flow projection modeling.
- Accounting and financial diligence experience in private equity.
- Quantitative, analytical and valuation skills to evaluate PE investment opportunities, such as performing market and competition analysis, risk analysis, research on industry trends, financial analysis and transaction structuring.
- Experience in commercial negotiations on PE investments, including knowledge of legal and tax structuring.
- Advanced skills in Preqin, LP Analyst, Bloomberg, CapIQ, Factset, VBA.
- Preparation of investment memoranda for deal opportunities which are presented to investment committee.
Travel Details:
- 10-20% domestic & international travel required to source opportunities & monitor investments.
