The Manager of Finance supports our NextEra Energy Investments team managing new and existing investment financials and information. Responsibilities include managing existing fund relationships and quarterly financials, monthly financial reporting, reviewing, and evaluating financial statements for various portfolio companies that our NextEra Energy Investments (NEI) team invests in. Job Duties and Responsibilities Establish processes and procedures for investment activities for NEI team – including tracking, accounting, reporting, and valuing investment activities.
Lead valuation of current investments in the NEI portfolio
Lead implementation of new software for financial reporting from portfolio companies
Track and provide all equity method investment financials/capital statements, and cap tables to accounting for quarterly earnings/loss entries
Track and report quarterly percentage ownership by investment for direct investments and funds
Identify and conduct complex analyses of financial impacts of issues and/or decisions facing the NEI group
Coordinate externally with the management of portfolio companies to understand their financial position and business performance
Prepare PowerPoint presentations to be provided to Senior and Executive Management
Various ad hoc financial analysis as required
Performs other job-related duties as assigned Job Overview Leaders in this role manage the planning and direction of department initiatives and projects. This position oversees development of programs and policies and ensures cost-effectiveness. Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitors and evaluates project progress and results
- Establishes policies, procedures and directives to support daily operations of the finance team
- Develops and monitors the execution of financial programs
- Monitors, maintains and reviews financial records
- Reviews and monitors contract program objectives and utilization of funds
- Recommends changes in resource allocation
- Assists in the preparation of department and contract budgets
- Develops expense projections
- Directs preparation of reports and other documentation
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements for transactions and reporting
