Position Summary:

The Financial Reporting Manager, serves as a Super User of the Yardi accounting and financial system, and is mainly responsible for the financial reporting process as well as the preparation of all the annual, quarterly and monthly financial reports to various external and internal stakeholders in accordance with GAAP and GASB as well as HUD reporting guidelines for the FDS reporting.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Super User of Yardi accounting and financial system, manage chart of accounts and property codes as well as relationship between G/L accounts and the various financial reports.
Coordinate and prepare the Comprehensive Financial Annual report including the footnotes and supplementary financial information in accordance with GAAP and GASB and as such interact and collaborate with external auditors and gather the supporting data.
Coordinate, prepare and submit to HUD by the required deadlines the annual unaudited and audited Financial Data System reports (FDS) in compliance with HUD/FDS guidelines and answer any questions that HUD financial analyst may have.
Prepare quarterly actual vs. budget financial reports for the Board of Commissioners (BOC) as well as monthly internal financial reports.
Ensure financial reporting compliance with other applicable AH and HUD rules, notices, regulations, policies, procedures and other governmental regulations
Stay abreast of changes to GAAP, GASB and FDS reporting guidelines and implement changes as required.
Manage and ensure accuracy of inter transfer accounts between funds.
Perform research and make appropriate recommendations to management on proper accounting treatment for new transactions; may review transactions for proper account classification.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related field
MBA preferred
4+ years’ experience in Financial Reporting
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
Knowledge and competency in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and governmental accounting standards (GASB) and other accounting concepts, practices and policies
Demonstrated proficiency of current office technology and software application including strong Microsoft Office skills (e.g. Excel and Word)
Demonstrated knowledge of Yardi
Ability to manipulate data and use reporting system

Working Conditions:

Works in an office environment. May require frequent bending, stooping, reaching and prolonged sitting and/or standing. Frequent local travel which necessitates a valid State of Georgia driver’s license and be fully insurable for the purpose of obtaining clearance on company “Authorized Drivers List.” AH Authorized Driver or Assigned Vehicle.
