Job Description
Self Pay Representative |Patient Financial Services – Customer Service | Day | Full-Time Gainesville, Florida Office and Clerical 51949 Has the primary responsibility for all activity related to collection of Self-Pay accounts. Performs account research, balance verification, system maintenance, patient support, and verification of billing and policy compliance. Works with the patients, the Reimbursement Teams, Third Party Payers, Collection Agencies, as well as clinics/departments to maximize collections. Must use independent judgment on the prioritization of assigned tasks.
Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent. 1 year of healthcare/billing and collections/financial experience or minimum 5 years in a customer service role in a business setting. Four-year degree may substitute for required work experience. Working knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act guidelines, Medical
CPT/ICD10
coding and Epic billing system preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication and problem resolution skills. The ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities and achieve successful outcomes in a team environment are necessary. Candidate must be well-organized, self-motivating, versatile and able to work independently. Position requires exposure to and protection of confidential and sensitive information. Must be able to perform under high levels of stress and be comfortable discussing and collecting money in a professional manner.
