DescriptionResponsible for setting business development strategyand executing sales production efforts to acquire new commercialbusiness within the market area. The position makes sales calls andvisits to business customers, high net worth individuals andprospects to understand the client needs, customize solutions thatwill benefit the customer and meet loan, deposit, and serviceneeds. The Commercial Banker III is responsible for attainment ofdeposit and loan growth objectives, services an extensive, complexcustomer portfolio and market. The role requires collaborationbetween multiple bank group including Treasury Management, WealthManagement, and Consumer Banking as well as internal supportfunctions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains the quality, profitability and growth of business andconsumer products through appropriate pricing and fees. Demonstrates effective sales strategies to attract, expand andretain customer relationships. Applies need-based sales techniques to attract, expand, andretain customer relationships by identifying products and servicesto enhance the customer relationship with the bank. Sets business development strategy for assigned market;identifies opportunities and makes sales calls to existing clientsand prospects. Thoroughly collects and analyzes customer and prospectfinancials to assess viability. Reviews loan applications, tax returns, income statements, bankstatements and other relevant data to determine actual cash flowand perform ongoing credit grade determinations within policyguidelines. Identifies and structures large, complex loan and depositopportunities that optimize credit quality and profitability. Coordinates portfolio management functions collaboratingthrough a team which may include Credit Analysts and CommercialBanking Assistants. Applies a high level of business acumen and risk managementexpertise to assess the viability of loan and depositopportunities. Prepares and articulates accurate, comprehensive, relevantinformation to the Loan Committee for loan approval. Oversees ongoing quality control for a portfolio by executingproper documentation, compliance, and collection efforts. Maintains knowledge of banking products, programs, services,and promotions. Responsible for achievement of market objectives as set by Bankleadership. Uses Customer Relationship Management systems to track salesefforts and prospects. Ensures compliance with internal controls, operationalprocedures, and risk management policies. Represents the Bank in business development efforts and atnetworking and community functions. Develops partnerships and collaborates with other lines ofbusiness to attain mutual goals and better serve customers. EXPERIENCE
4-year college degree, BA in Business Administration,Economics, Finance or related major, required or 6 years ofcomparable experience (this would be in addition to any years ofexperience required separately). Ten or more years of proven success in Commercial Banking. Ability to analyze markets, identify prospects, develop, andexecute consultative, value-added sales techniques andstrategies. Ability to meet and exceed established targets. Demonstrated record of relationship building with business,civic and governmental organizations. Currently established within the micro-community, wherereputation and followership is in place. Flexibility around work hours and be available at timesconvenient to the client.
