Job Description

Head of Retail and Business Banking 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 220 Alhambra Circle, Coral Gables, FL 33134 The Head of Retail Banking is responsible for the successful execution of the bank’s retail strategy across Florida. This role will inspire and lead a geographically dispersed team of banking centers, will be accountable for the successful execution of Amarant’s retail growth strategy, drive revenue and margin growth while keeping a trained eye on talent acquisition and talent development.

Responsibilities:

Successfully implement and execute Amarant’s retail banking business plan to increase market revenue and improve operational efficiency. Grow market share and visibility by leveraging their knowledge of retail banking trends. Build, train, and lead high performing sales teams; identify and successfully recruit the market’s top talent while simultaneously driving increased performance of existing staff through the sales training, coaching, and leading by example. Successfully raise the bar on performance and service; set challenging goals that reach above and beyond the market opportunity. Take personal ownership for ensuring market growth across all lines of business. Develop and maintain a relationship with the market’s top clients. Provide human capital leadership by partnering with HR within Amerant to execute market-leading recruiting, compensation, training, and leadership development strategies. Manage all aspects of the client experience within the market; create the highest level of client advocacy by ensuring distinctive service and ongoing client satisfaction. Work across lines of business to identify acquisition and cross-selling business opportunities. Establish sales performance goals to ensure year-over-year growth through referrals, cross selling, business banking and consumer loans and deposits, with line of business leaders. Successfully manage and control all aspects of the balance sheet and budget. Promote a positive work environment by creating market-wide programs to reward, recognize and retain top performing sales and service professionals. Establish strategies to maximize and enhance Amarant’s reputation in the community. Support and ensure implementation of corporate retail banking initiatives. Partner with segment market managers to drive synergies, review sales pipelines and coordinate priorities/focus areas for branches. Work with various function Managers to drive sales activities by analyzing client and market data, to identify potential sales and services opportunities and build partnerships in the community. Align with partners from other lines of business -Business Banking, Private Banking and Mortgage Banking- to increase the visibility of Amerant in the marketplace. He / she will be accountable for surfacing new business opportunities, while expanding existing client relationships. Integrate, prioritize, and manage promotional campaigns across segment and product lines and embed the principles behind the compensation program to ensure the motivation of the right behaviors and business delivery. Ensures that Amerant has measurable Retail Operations objectives which support the overall goals and objectives of the organization. Ensures branch operations according to established corporate policy and procedures.

Work Experience:

15+ years in retail banking and bank management Experience collaborating with business partners to focus, drill down and drive retail banking growth initiatives. Education and/or

Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or marketing, higher level degree preferred.

Technical and Other Essential Knowledge:

Knowledge of bank operations and state and federal laws and regulations related to Banking products and services Thorough understanding of how to increase revenue, profitability, and efficiency with the right mix and breadth of aggressive leadership Proven ability to respond to organizational, business, and regulatory changes, inspire others and exhibit flexibility and self-motivation. Successful track delivering growth results through others, expertise leading large teams of client face bankers. Proven ability to influence based on knowledge, experience, and fact – skillfully influences peers and colleagues with advanced business acumen Proven track record combining operational efficiency with aggressive growth initiatives across a retail banking organization. Demonstrate deep and broad business acumen within consumer retail financial services
